Chapters

A Chapter of BOBA-USA may be formed within a U.S. geographical area defined by a two (2) hour driving radius from a main U.S. Metropolitan Center such as Washington D.C., Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, etc.

Each chapter shall be named, by any of the following delineations: BOBA – (Name of Region or State or City or Town, or Locality, provided that each of these meet the requirement of paragraph 1 above).

Chapters shall be a constituent and subordinate unit of the Association subject to the general authority and jurisdiction of the National Association.

An aspiring Chapter shall demonstrate “viability” to the National Association by:

  1. Showing proof of at least of five members within the chapter’s geographic delineation.
  2. Having a minimum of one year’s accrued membership dues for at least five members.
  3. Submit an application together with minutes and financial records for the preceding nine consecutive months.
  4. Under exceptional circumstances, a chapter may qualify even if they do not meet the requirements for the minimum number of members, so long as they satisfy the provisions of (2) and (3) above.

For a chapter to remain in good standing, it will need to pay in advance to the national treasurer of BOBA USA, the collective amount of membership fees for all its registered members against a receipt.

Chapters shall have the right to establish by-laws provided the by-laws are in accordance with the provisions of BOBA USA Constitution. Any provision of the chapter’s by-laws that are in conflict with the national BOBA USA Constitution shall be null and void.
